Lillian
and the new sewing machine
|
She
knows how to sew.
Let's just say she can thread a wicked needle,
And if the need should arise, I suspect she could take that
old peddler for a ride.
|
At
Christmas time a couple of heads were bowed in thought.
An electric sewing machine it would be - one with fancy innards.
All this in the long ago.
Somehow or other the time for taking on the new never seemed
to be just right.
|
There
she sits to this very day pedaling away.
Pathetic or amusing? You choose.
I know but I'm not telling. No fooling!
